Excavation — done right, done once.
Excavation is the oldest trade on the job site and still the easiest one to get wrong. The difference between a foundation dig that comes in on spec and one that costs you a change order is inches — and the operator reading the stakes.
We run the full excavation range for North Idaho clients: residential foundations and footings, utility trenches for water, power, and drainage, stump and debris removal, footings for retaining walls, and general dig-and-haul work. Every operator on our crew holds years on the sticks — not weeks.
Four steps from first call to finished work.
No games, no mystery pricing, no “we’ll see when we get there”. Here’s how every Premier job runs.
Walk the land
We come out, walk the property with you, and understand what you’re trying to get done. Free, no pressure.
Straight quote
You get a written quote with scope, timeline, and price — in days, not weeks. No bait-and-switch.
Do the work
We show up when we said we would and run the job with our own crew and equipment. You stay informed.
Walk it again
Final walk-through. If something isn’t right, we fix it before we invoice. That’s our guarantee.
The difference is in how it’s done.
Read the plan, cut the grade
We read engineered drawings and hit elevation on the first pass.
Clean vertical walls
Proper benching and shoring when depth calls for it. Safe for inspectors.
Right-sized equipment
Mini-ex for tight spots, 20-ton for standard foundations, larger for commercial.
Utilities coordinated
We coordinate with 811, your utility provider, and your other trades.
Haul-off or stockpile
Your choice, your site.
Situations we solve every week.
Dirt work, done right the first time.
Any-scope equipment on hand
Equipment on hand for any scope — you won’t wait a week because we had to rent a smaller machine.
Operators who know our ground
Operators who have been digging North Idaho ground for years. We know where the clay changes to till, where the granite starts, and where the water sits.
Insured, bonded, on-time
Insured, bonded, and on-time. If something changes mid-dig, you’ll hear it from us that day — never in an invoice.

Excavation — answered.
Do you call in locates before trenching?
Yes — always. Utility locates (Idaho’s 811 system) are standard on every dig that goes deeper than a few inches.
What size excavators do you run?
Mini-ex (1–3 ton) for tight residential work and yard access; mid-size (15–25 ton) for foundations and driveways; larger machines on commercial and pond work.
Can you dig in winter?
Often, yes — North Idaho ground freezes but it’s workable through most of the season. We’ll scope the frost depth on the site visit.
What do you charge for a typical foundation dig?
Residential foundation digs typically run $2,500–$6,000 depending on depth, soil conditions, and haul-off. We price per-project so you know what you’re paying before we start.
Often paired with site prep.
