Who We Are

A 90-second look at how we work.

Family-owned and operated in North Idaho. Licensed, bonded, insured — and Joey walks every job himself.

Our Story

A family-run excavation and forestry company built for the terrain up here.

Premier Land Service was founded by Joseph “Joey” Few on one simple idea: North Idaho landowners deserve a contractor who actually shows up, communicates clearly, and leaves the property better than they found it.

We’re a licensed Idaho contractor headquartered in Sagle, working daily across Bonner, Kootenai, and Boundary counties. We run excavators, skid steers, a forestry mulcher, dump trucks, and the support equipment it takes to move a raw parcel all the way to a finished, build-ready site — forestry mulching and fire fuels reduction through to excavation, septic, driveways, grading, and retaining walls. One licensed crew. One point of contact. No subcontracted runaround.

Most of our work comes from word of mouth and repeat clients, which means we live or die by how the last job went. We’re not the biggest outfit in the county, and we don’t want to be — we’re big enough to handle serious site work and small enough that the owner still walks every property, writes every estimate, and picks up the phone.

What we stand for

Principles we won’t compromise on.

01

Show up when we say we will.

If we commit to a date, we’re on site. If weather or a supply delay changes things, you hear from us the moment we know — not the day of.

02

Quote clearly. Bill honestly.

Written estimates with scope, assumptions, and change-order language spelled out. No ambush invoices, no padded hours.

03

Build for the long haul.

Proper compaction. Real drainage. Correctly sloped pads. We build so you’re not calling another contractor to fix it in five years.

04

Respect the land.

Mature trees protected when possible. Erosion controls in place. Cleanup is part of the job — not an extra.

05

Communicate like adults.

Texts, calls, photos from the field — you stay in the loop. No mystery gaps where you can’t reach anyone.

06

Back our work.

If something we built isn’t right, we come back. It’s that simple. Referrals are the whole business.

Meet the owner

Joey Few — Owner and operator

Joseph “Joey” Few is the founder and owner of Premier Land Service, a licensed Idaho Contractor with deep roots in the Inland Northwest.

Premier runs on two things: Joey’s eye for the work, and a crew of lifelong equipment operators. Joey has called North Idaho home for over 20 years and has spent that time building and leading businesses — real estate and small-business ownership.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Administration and an associate’s in Ski Industries and Accounting, and has been a licensed real estate agent with Tomlinson Sotheby’s International Realty since 2017.

That combination — licensed contractor, working real estate agent, and a crew with deep operator experience — means Joey understands not just how to clear and prep your land, but how the work affects the long-term value of your property. Whether you’re developing a building site, preparing a parcel for resale, or protecting a forested home from wildfire, you’ll get advice rooted in experience, not a sales pitch.

Joey still walks every site himself and writes every estimate personally. When you call Premier, you get the owner — not a dispatcher.

Equipment

The iron we run.

Owned, operated, and maintained in-house. We don’t sub out our core services — every machine on your property is ours, and so is the person running it.

Excavators

Compact and full-size hydraulic excavators for trenching, digging, and material handling.

Skid steers

Tracked skid steers with bucket, forks, grapple, and mulcher attachments.

Forestry mulcher

Heavy-duty mulching head for selective clearing and fire-defense work.

Dump trucks

For hauling rock, fill, and cleared material on and off site.

Plate and roller compaction

So pads, driveways, and backfills actually hold up over time.

Laser level and transit

Pads and drainage set to spec, not by eye.

Ready when you are

Walk your property with the owner.

No high-pressure sales, no pre-printed menu. Just a conversation about what you’re trying to build on your land — and a clear written estimate to match.
