Logging & Timber Sales
Small-scale logging, selective harvest, and full clearing with log recovery. When your land has merchantable timber, we turn it into a check that offsets the work.
Honest timber work — with the math on the page.
A lot of landowners in North Idaho only sell timber once or twice in their lifetime, and it’s easy to get the wrong number. We walk your timber, cruise it, and give you an honest estimate of what the merchantable wood is worth before anyone fires up a saw. No guesswork, no handshake surprises at the end.
We run everything in-house — timber cruise, Notice of Forest Practice, harvest, landing, haul to the mill, and landing rehab. Our written quote breaks out the timber value, the cost of work, and your net either way — so you see exactly what you’re getting before you sign.
Get money back for merchantable timber.
When we clear fire fuels or reduce a stand, any merchantable logs we pull off your property can be sold — and that revenue gets credited back to your invoice. On the right site, the timber sale covers a meaningful chunk of the clearing cost. Sometimes all of it.
How the rebate works
- We identify merchantable timber during the site walk — typically sound conifer above a minimum diameter.
- If the volume makes sense, we broker the logs to a local mill and apply the net proceeds to your invoice as a rebate.
- You see the timber value on your quote up front — no surprises, no hidden margin.
- If there’s no merchantable timber, we tell you straight. Not every property qualifies.
Ask about the timber rebate when you call — we’ll flag it during the estimate.
A 90-second look at how we work.
Family-owned and operated in North Idaho. Licensed, bonded, insured — and Joey walks every job himself.
Four steps from first call to finished work.
No games, no mystery pricing, no “we’ll see when we get there”. Here’s how every Premier job runs.
Walk the land
We come out, walk the property with you, and understand what you’re trying to get done. Free, no pressure.
Straight quote
You get a written quote with scope, timeline, and price — in days, not weeks. No bait-and-switch.
Do the work
We show up when we said we would and run the job with our own crew and equipment. You stay informed.
Walk it again
Final walk-through. If something isn’t right, we fix it before we invoice. That’s our guarantee.
A real logging operation — with honest math.
Timber cruise and volume estimate
We walk the stand, measure diameter and grade, and give you a realistic volume and value estimate before any work starts.
Timber value on the quote
Merchantable value is shown on your written quote. You see the log revenue and the work cost broken out — no mystery math.
Selective or full harvest
Thinning for health, selective high-grade, or full harvest for a rebuild or view cut — we run the method your land and your goals call for.
Notice of Forest Practice filing
We file the NFP with Idaho Department of Lands and handle the paperwork with you, not around you.
Landing and skid-trail rehab
Every logging job leaves scars. We rehab the landing, cross-drain the skid trails, and reseed so the ground heals correctly.
Net cost — spelled out
Your quote shows timber revenue minus cost of work. Either a check to you or a credit against other land work — but you always know.
When logging is the right tool.
Logging with honest math.
Timber value shown up front
Timber value on the quote. Before work starts, you see the estimated log proceeds and how they’re credited against the job — no surprises at the end.
Sized for private land
Right-sized for private land. Our scale fits parcels most big logging outfits won’t touch. You get attention, not a subcontracted crew.
Cleanup is part of the job
Cleanup included. Slash removal, landing rehab, road grading — the job isn’t done until the lot is clean.
Ballpark pricing — starting ranges.
Logging projects are priced after a site walk. The number depends on stand density, access, terrain, and current log market prices. Most projects net out to a clearing cost after the timber rebate is applied.
Priced after site walk
on good timber, the rebate can cover most or all of the clearing

Logging — answered.
How does the timber rebate actually work?
After the site walk we identify merchantable logs and estimate volume. We get mill quotes for current prices. On your written quote, you see the estimated log value as a credit against the clearing cost. Once logs are delivered to the mill and payment comes through, the actual net proceeds are applied to your final invoice. Transparent and line-itemed.
Will I end up making money?
On some parcels yes — if the timber value exceeds the logging and clearing cost, you get a check. More commonly the rebate covers a meaningful chunk of the work, so the net cost to you is less than a pure clearing job.
What size parcel makes sense?
Usually 5 acres and up with a reasonable volume of merchantable timber. Below that, mobilization cost eats the timber value. We’ll tell you straight if it doesn’t pencil out.
Do I need a timber harvest plan?
Idaho’s Forest Practices Act requires a Notification of Forest Practices (NFP) for most commercial harvests. We handle the filing and any required setbacks from water and roads.
What happens to the land after logging?
We do landing rehab, slash cleanup, and road grading as part of the job. If you want the stand reforested, we coordinate with local reforestation services. If you want the cleared areas mulched or graded, we do that too.
Often paired with other forestry work.
Forestry Mulching
After harvest, mulch the slash and undergrowth in place — one crew, no burn piles, clean finish.
