What is Forestry Mulching?
Forestry mulching is the practice of removing trees, brush, stumps, and forest debris by grinding them into a reusable mulch. This mulch is then spread evenly over the area to help reduce erosion and add nutrients to the soil. In addition, Premier Land Service reduces the amount of fuel available for wildfires, helping with wildfire prevention and management. And forestry mulching can be used for clearing land for development, maintaining right-of-ways, wetland and riparian habitat conservation, and controlling invasive species.
The Benefits of Forestry Mulching
By using specialized equipment to finely grind trees and other vegetation into mulch, forestry mulching eliminates the need for additional trucking costs and leaves leftover debris on-site, meaning no additional waste disposal is needed. Additionally, traditional types of land clearing may require the installation of a silt fence or other BMPs in order to control erosion.
By using specialty equipment that removes foliage without harming trees or soil, forestry mulching is a more ecologically sound option than traditional methods such as clearing land with bulldozers and machinery.
Forestry Mulching can be used in situations where other methods would not work. Because forestry Mulching leaves behind a finely ground residue that can act as an erosion control measure or sediment barrier when needed, it has many uses beyond just clearing land for farming or construction projects.
