FORESTRY FAQ
What are the benefits of Forestry Mulching?
It is a fast way to clear land without digging up stumps and creating large slash piles to be burned or hauled off. It is also very quick and efficient. The mulch left behind can be larger pieces or with multiple passes can be very fine or even mulched into the soil to be seed ready. If you leave larger mulch it will actually inhibit regeneration growth for longer. If you want to plant grass or a quick regeneration of brush and trees, then a finer mulch turned into the soil would be ideal. Also mulching impacts the soil less than large equipment like dozers which can cause future erosion problems, especially on steeper slopes.
Why is Forestry Mulching so expensive?
It may seem expensive until you see the amount of production we can accomplish per hour or in a single day. It is actually more cost-effective than most other methods of land clearing and leaves minimal impact on the soil.

What are the cons of Forestry Mulching?
It leaves the stumps cut at ground level, so it is not ideal for a building site where you will be excavating in the future. In those cases, the traditional method of excavating the stumps would be better. In some cases, leaving a few inches of mulch on the ground may not be ideal for your future landscaping plans. With that said we are able to offer traditional land-clearing methods for those instances. We can burn or haul the stumps and slash them inside the building envelope. For many projects a mix of both methods is ideal.
How much can you get done in a day?
With our equipment depending on the terrain, stump sizes, weather, and other factors you can expect up to 3 acres a day or as little as a half acre. Once we visit your site for an estimate we will be able to better predict the production for your land. We also have access to other machines and implements for larger projects. We can mulch one to three acres per day, depending on the material to be mulched and the terrain.
How do you charge?
Prices can vary depending on the project. One machine usually runs $2,500 per day and can clear 1-3 acres or more depending on the size of the trees, the terrain, the weather, and other factors. Premier Land Service provides free estimates for your job. Our estimates are set depending on our client-specific project needs which include daily rates and turnkey project rates. We will discount our rates with multiple days, multiple machines or additional services.
What are your working hours?
Monday through Saturday from sun up to sun down.
What size property projects can you handle?
Our projects include 1-acre lots up to large land tracts of 100 acres or more.
What size trees can you take down?
We can mulch trees up to 8” in diameter while larger trees require removal with an excavator or dozer. While we can mulch just about any size tree, anything over 8” in diameter starts taking a significant amount of time. Our equipment makes short work of anything under 8”.
Can you take out stumps?
Depending on the project scope and customer’s needs we can mulch stumps to ground level or completely remove stumps with an excavator for pad sites and road base applications.
Do you offer payment plans?
No, we do not currently offer payment plans.
What payment forms do you accept?
Cash, Check, Wire Transfer, Venmo, Zelle, and Credit Cards
