Grading and Drainage Solutions
French drains, catch basins, foundation grading, lot leveling. We put water where it belongs — away from your home.
Grading and Drainage — done right, done once.
Water is the single biggest destroyer of homes, driveways, and yards in North Idaho. Standing water against a foundation becomes a wet crawlspace; runoff across a driveway becomes a washout; poor grade in a yard becomes a bog every March.
We design and build grading and drainage solutions for homes, driveways, and properties — from simple regrades that pull water away from a foundation, to full French drain and catch-basin systems that manage runoff across an acre.
Four steps from first call to finished work.
No games, no mystery pricing, no “we’ll see when we get there”. Here’s how every Premier job runs.
Walk the land
We come out, walk the property with you, and understand what you’re trying to get done. Free, no pressure.
Straight quote
You get a written quote with scope, timeline, and price — in days, not weeks. No bait-and-switch.
Do the work
We show up when we said we would and run the job with our own crew and equipment. You stay informed.
Walk it again
Final walk-through. If something isn’t right, we fix it before we invoice. That’s our guarantee.
The difference is in how it’s done.
Water away from the foundation
Proper positive slope — 6 inches of fall over the first 10 feet.
French drains where needed
Gravel-backfilled perforated pipe — gone for good, not just rerouted.
Catch basins and outfalls
For driveways, yards, and problem low spots.
Yard and lot leveling
Buildable, mowable, drainable.
Situations we solve every week.
Find the water, then fix it.
Diagnose before we dig
Drainage problems are usually misdiagnosed. Before we quote a French drain, we look at the whole site — because sometimes regrading 20 feet of yard solves a problem that a drain system would only mask.
Plain-English explanations
Our work comes with a straight explanation: here’s where the water is coming from, here’s where it needs to go, here’s what we’re doing about it.
Pros-grade materials underground
Drainage components are hidden — you trust that we used the right pipe, the right fabric, and the right backfill. We use pros-grade materials and we’ll show you the spec before we bury it.

Grading and Drainage — answered.
How do I know if I need a French drain?
If you have standing water, a wet crawlspace, or a soggy yard that lasts for days after rain, it’s often a drainage issue — but the fix may be regrading, not a French drain. We’ll tell you which.
What’s the right slope away from a house?
Minimum 6 inches of fall over the first 10 feet from the foundation (5% slope), per IRC guidance. More is better on heavy soils.
Will a French drain fix a flooded basement?
Sometimes, yes — especially if it’s paired with proper regrading and gutter redirection. Sometimes the issue is interior (sump pump) instead.
Do you work with existing landscaping?
Yes — we protect what we can, and put the yard back together when we’re done.
Often paired with excavation.
